Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies OpenWebTrack uses, and where. There are two scopes: cookies set by the OpenWebTrack website (openwebtrack.com), and cookies set by the OpenWebTrack tracking script on your visitors' browsers (only if you opt in).
1. Cookies on the OpenWebTrack website

We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party analytics cookies on the OpenWebTrack website. The cookies above are strictly necessary for the service to function, so we do not request consent for them.
2. Cookies set by the OpenWebTrack tracking script
Cookieless mode (default)
The default tracking script does not set any cookies, does not read any cookies, and does not use localStorage or similar persistent identifiers. Each visitor is identified by a daily-rotating hash derived from non-personal request attributes. This means:
- No cookie consent banner is required for cookieless tracking in most jurisdictions, including the EU under GDPR.
- The same person visiting on different days will appear as a new visitor.
Cookie mode (opt-in)
If you enable cookie-based tracking in your dashboard, the script will set a first-party analytics cookie on your visitors' device. Because this cookie identifies a visitor across sessions, you must obtain consent before setting it in jurisdictions that require it (for example, the EU under the ePrivacy Directive).

You are responsible for configuring your consent banner to block the script until consent is granted when running in cookie mode.
3. How to control cookies
- You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
- You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will affect how the OpenWebTrack website behaves when you are signed in.
- If you are a visitor of a site that uses OpenWebTrack in cookie mode, use that site's cookie controls to opt out.
4. Changes to this policy
We will post updates here. Material changes are announced by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
